The Charleston Place announced its annual Easter Eggstravaganza taking place on Saturday, April 8th from 11 am to 4 pm. For this event, the City of Charleston will close Market Street between King and Meeting Streets to allow for the Easter celebration to span an entire city block.   “We’re so excited to host our Easter Eggstravaganza again this year at The Charleston Place,” said Bob Megargle, Managing Director. “We love working with the City of Charleston to create this magical event on Market Street for all members of the community to enjoy. We’ll have  entertainment, a delicious brunch, food trucks, animals, visits from the Easter Bunny, and a huge Easter egg hunt along Market Street. It is our hope that this continues to be an annual tradition for guests and locals alike.” The Easter Eggstravaganza begins on Saturday, April 8th at 11 am on Market Street between King and Meeting Streets with live music, food and beverage offerings from The Charleston Place, Coastal Crust, and BlackSalt BBQ, and an array of kids programming, including a “fairy hair” station, face painting, and balloon animals. Guests can also take pictures with the Easter Bunny and pet live bunnies, chicks, and ducks. The event will culminate with an Easter egg hunt featuring more than 10,000 eggs, including five golden eggs with special prizes. The eggs will be scattered across the faux “lawn” created on Market Street, and Mayor John Tecklenburg will do the countdown for each egg hunt. There will be three separate egg hunts based on age: 12 pm for ages five and under; 12:20 pm for ages six to nine; and 12:40 pm for ages 10-12. In the event of rain, the Easter Eggstravaganza will  take place inside the ballroom at The Charleston Place. The egg hunt is complimentary, but reservations are required and can be made on the website. There will also be an Easter Brunch in The Palmetto Café and Thoroughbred Club on both Saturday, April 8th and Sunday, April 9th. On both days, breakfast will run from 6:30 am to 10:30 am and brunch will run from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. There will be live action stations featuring an array of brunch favorites, as well as kid-friendly options like a cotton candy machine and Easter treats. Reservations are required.
